I got into pom-pom animals a few years ago when my dad bought me a book called: Adventures in Pompom Land: 25 Cute Projects Made from Handmade Pompoms. I really liked it and went on to create tons of cute pom-pom animals. There is also a kit that I have called: Pom-Pom Puppies, which even has a easy-to-use pom-pom maker inside! I definitely recommend both of these! However, neither of these are anywhere close to free, so here are the general instructions for making these.
Please note there are tons of different animals you can make, and each of these have specific directions. You can email me if you have a specific request.
Materials (Things You MAY need) :
DIY yarn pom-poms (If you don't know how to make these, see my post on making them here )
Extra yarn and/or string
Small yarn needle
Felting Wool and Needles
Pipe cleaners
Glass eyes
Scissors
Felt
Beads
Accessories such as fake leaves and flower buds
A strong glue (I used Tacky)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Procedure:
Trim your yarn pom-poms into your desired shape.
Use the felting wool and needles to make body parts. Cover a pipe cleaner with wool an felt to make a tail.
Cut ears out of the felt.
Assemble your animal. Since it is made out of yarn, you'll have to use a lot of glue, since some of the glue will be absorbed.
Stick the the glass eyes into the head with a bit of glue.
String whiskers into the head with the extra string and yarn needle.
Glue beads for noses.
Add accessories for extra cuteness! ;)
Wait for the glue to dry. DO NOT MAKE ANY ADJUSTMENTS WHILE THE GLUE IS DRYING! I made that mistake the first time. When the glue dried, the bond was not strong enough because I had moved it from its original spot.
You're done! These look really great on top of your desk and you'll get a lot of people saying, " Wow. Dd you make that?

So, I hope you like it! Again, I know these instructions aren't the most specific, but you can email me if you have a specific request. You can also buy the book! Please Please Please email me with your results, I can't wait to see them! I bet you can do much better than me ;)
