Whether you’re making a Pom-Pom animal or DIY fluff wreaths , knowing how to make your own pom-Pom is a very useful skill.
What’s the difference between store bought Pom-poms and DIYed Pom-poms, why make them yourself if you can just buy them? The answer is simple.
One is a plasticky cheap craft material, and the other... is well, a actuall fluffy ball of yarn. Now, I dont really hate store bought pom-poms, I just don’t think they look nice, and arent useful for the projects I normally make.
There are also Pom-Pom makers you can buy or make, but I find that just making them with your hands is more convenient.
I hope you enjoy making your Pom-poms!
Materials:
String
OPTIONAL: Waxed twine
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Procedure:

Take your string and repeatedly wrap it around your hand until there is roughly 2” of string layered.
Take your hand out of the loop.
Cut a piece of waxed twine or string and wrap it around the middle of the bundle of yarn, and tie a tight double knot.
Use the scissors to cut the loop open on each side of the knot.
Trim the ball untill it becomes a somewhat smooth circle. Be sure to do this over a trash can! You can also keep the shavings to use as stuffing for crafts, as there will be A LOT of them!
You’re done! Enjoy your Pom-poms!
